Why? Why Not.

So why I am starting this blog even though I can't even keep up with the one I already have? Well, here are the reasons:

  • Vilma & I have some really funny conversations regarding cancer. Why not share them?
  • Something for us to look back on & smile. Why not?
  • A way to laugh. Why not laugh?
  • And, the most important reason, I love her! (Does it make me crazy I love my Mother-In-Law so much?)
Now onto my first Vilma story is one that some of you may know a little bit about already. Vilma is obsessed with eyebrows. One of the first things she said when Logan & Ellie were first born was, "I hope they have eyebrows like you."

She is worried that chemo is going to take her brows down with it. When she told me this, I of course thought she was a nut, but being the wonderful daughter-in-law I am I offered her a suggestion, "If the chemo does take your infamous brows we can get some caterpillars to put on to take their place." Here are some ideas of what she might look like with her new brows:

So forward this blog site to everyone you know, because Why? Why not!

Vilma in True Form
Some things never change, even when your dealing with cancer! I meant Vilma in the cafeteria at the hospital, while we were waiting for Gladice and we are having a moment about the reality of "this cancer is real" and we were a little emotional, so I thought! Then all of a sudden, in the middle of my, "we will get through this speech" Vilma stands up, leans over the table toward me, licks her thumb and precedes to fix my eye make-up! It was really a funny moment to us. Vilma and I can never have a conversation, ever, before one of us gets off track and moves on to another conversation, only to realize later that we didn't finish the first. To us, this is normal!

Oops! I "meant" when I "met" Vilma at the hospital. Thanks Brandy for the edit!

Vilma rocks! She is one tuff cookie and will win this battle with a wonderful sense of humor.

PS I especially love the caterpillar brows.

Love,
Janice

If laughter is the best medicine, you are definitely getting her off to a great start. Keep up the great work!
